We're going to have our commissioner over to tell about the 218th GA. He asked what people are concerned about.
Truth is, we lead a sheltered life in our little tall steeple church. People aren't up in arms about anything. But somebody is and you know it by the constant stream of stay cool messages from Louisville.
The latest is a message from Moderator Bruce Reyes-Chow. Here's what he said, "If you believe some of the commentary out there, you would think that there is absolutely nothing we can come together around". He also said he was "praying for my enemies".
That will give you an idea of the quality of dialogue we've come to.
The denomination's Office of Constitutional Services has also felt compelled to weigh in with a message telling Presbyteries what the new legislation means-particularly in regard to "Actions of the 218th General Assembly related to G-6.0106b & G-6.0108".
A lot of people are confused about the AI. The message from OCS says it removes some language from some previous AIs which banned certain ordinations. Why that was necessary to have in the first place or to remove I don't know since G-60106B is clear on that point.
I wish they would just let the malcontents rage on. Most people I know have more to worry about.

The AI's that were removed pre-dated G-6.0106b by a number of years. That's why we had them, then the 106b change.
The prevailing opinion is that in order to allow homosexual ordination BOTH the old AI's and G-6.0106b must be removed.
